Included/Excluded
- 08:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, and drive to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe. The journey from Kampala takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
- 09:00 AM: Arrive at UWEC and meet your guide for a briefing on the day’s activities
- 09:30 AM: Start with a guided tour of the center. UWEC is home to a variety of rescued animals, including lions, rhinos, giraffes, chimpanzees, and more. You’ll learn about Uganda’s wildlife, the importance of conservation, and the stories behind these rescued animals.
- 10:30 AM: Visit the Chimpanzee Enclosure, where you can observe chimps in a semi-natural habitat and learn about chimpanzee conservation efforts in Uganda.
- 11:00 AM: Head to the Reptile Village for a chance to see various reptiles, including snakes, crocodiles, and tortoises.
- 11:30 AM: Visit the Bird Aviary, home to many bird species, including the majestic African fish eagle, crowned cranes, and the rare shoebill stork.
- 12:30 PM: Enjoy lunch at the UWEC restaurant overlooking Lake Victoria. You’ll have the option to taste local Ugandan cuisine or choose from an international menu.
- 01:30 PM: Relax by the lake, take a walk along the shores of Lake Victoria, or simply enjoy the tranquil environment.
02:00 PM: Participate in the Behind-the-Scenes Experience (optional, additional fee). This unique tour takes you behind the enclosures to learn more about animal care, feeding routines, and UWEC’s conservation programs. You may have the chance to help prepare food for the animals, feed them, or interact with some of the animals under the guidance of a caretaker.
03:30 PM: Take a guided nature walk around the UWEC grounds. Enjoy the peaceful environment, spot more wildlife, and learn about the different plant species within the center.
- 05:00 PM: Depart UWEC and begin the journey back to Kampala or your hotel in Entebbe.
- 06:00 PM: Drop off at your hotel or residence, marking the end of the tour.
